We had an eventful, productive, exciting day! We didn’t have dinner ‘til after 8:30! We got the basics set up – water, electricity, sewer, laundry. Got familiar with some of the controls and functionality. Pretty much everything is up and running except gas, hot water and refrigerator. We made mental notes about how much storage we have and thought about which things can go in which shelves. I’m thinking books above the sofa and dinette, food and kitchenware on the cupboards opposite. Musical instruments in the master bedroom closet. Possibly more books in the basement. The kids asked to sleep in the coach tonight, so we washed sheets and made the beds.
We will move in slowly. But no bulky, heavy stuff yet until we can get an oven put in. We need to drive into the city to get that done, and more weight on the coach means more diesel. The motorhome has a gas cooktop and microwave. I’m not a fan of microwaves, and we bake and roast a lot. We also need to get the coach registered in KY, get a license plate for it and get robbed (ahem, taxed) a good amount for buying it. Because land of the free and all that. LOL sorry – I can’t help myself sometimes…
It’s nice and quiet in here, and dark too. There are blinds on the windows, which is quite different! We never had blinds or curtains put in at the house!
Kitty has already explored the coach, but Toby seems reluctant. Traveling with cats should be interesting…
In the rising I’ll be going back to the house to light the fire and work on the podcast. I told the kids they can call me via walkie-talkie when they get up and are ready for cuddles. Goodnight world!
