I read three of my poems at the Poetry Open Mic at The Wrigley in Corbin, KY. Here’s one of them 🙂
Love is why we create
And why we destroy
Without love there can be no sorrow
There can be no joy
Anger, bliss
Pain, release
Love is in all of these things
Love is in your days
and in your nights
In every color, every gradient
Love is loud and it is silent
You can hear it as the thundering winds
And as the quiet breeze
You can see it in a drop of water
And in the storming seas
Love is why we dim
And why we shine
Why we open our hearts
And why we draw the line
Love is why we live
And why we die
Why we break and mend and
Do it all over again
Love is in what we’ve lost
And what we’ve won
Love is why we give up
And why we walk on…
Love cannot be separated
Nor can it be removed
It is interwoven, soaked in –
It is the encompassing fabric within
Love is why we dream
And why we fall into despair
It is why we hide
And why we share
Love is why we rise
And why we fall
Do you see yet, how love is in all?
